Creature research and concept

Research

To start with, I began by looking at cats for a general body shape; in particular, kittens and cubs, which would have the stockier, disproportional body that a cute creature would typically have.

Fennec foxes were also a big inspiration, as I wanted the creature to have disproportionally large ears and a tail to its body.

I also looked at red pandas for ideas for body patterns, as well as an alternate tail idea and inspiration as to how to proportion the creature's body.

 Finally, rabbits were also given brief consideration for a potential body shape.

Concepts

These were the first rounds of concepts produced throughout the week.

Colours were also given brief consideration using one of the concepts as a base.

Later in the week, when the inspiration for the creature was revealed to be more bipedal, I decided to produce some appropriate concepts based on the ones already created.
