Risk Assesment

Risk Assessment

01: Communication-
Facebook’s have been traded and are available to view on the blog also google blog keeps team up to date. Google drive is being used to file share. Most communications between all teams was established on week 3, all have been added by week 4
.
02: Absentees-
Hopefully the problem of absence will be counteracted by communication.

03: Deciding concept-
On Friday a final choice for our creatures will be made. If someone feels passionate about why we should use, there model can speak out but the final decision will come down to the modellers if still no decision is made then the best will be drawn out of a hat.

04: Animated background, leaf scatted, debris or water-
Until deciding the final concept of scene/landscape we do not know what we will be dealing with in this regard but research in the following methods of creating particle physics will go ahead anyway. Choosing weather or not to run the particle generators in Unreal or compositing later in Nuke or Houdini. Gamers know and have previous experience of using Unreal but as the gamers both have duty start jobs It will more than likely be edited later by animators. Which will open up the problem of what rendering engine to use.

05: Rendering-
Previously all rendering on animation has been done using Maya rendering engine or Hardware 2.0 as the animation is already done and rendering and compiling is done quickly but we have found that rendering in this format ran the animation slightly quicker and left low quality renders. Research will be going in to using other engines, more than likely utilising Render man.

06: Fur/Hair-
Choosing weather to use a Nhair on Maya to crate long follicles or possibly a light fluff on a creature or make the shape of the fur part of the mesh or using both. If hair is made on model a decision will be have to made weather or not, we rig it for added animation or if it remains static.

07: Deciding on a final sequence-
Though we know that the creatures will resemble a cat or fox like animal we can begins to think about movement but until environment is mapped story board of environment interaction cannot be made. This will be remedied by the Friday meeting of week 4 then storyboards and animation steps will start.

08: Lighting-
Thoughts were made about the lighting to be involved in some particle generator to create “fire flies” but on second thought the context of the scene would suggest a day time event and a happy, well lit wood. Glowing fungi was also a suggestion but gamers made us aware that they had already been doing a lot of that so that idea has been axed.

09: Sound

We have not discussed sound
